Typically, a Wall Area Within Premises That is Prone to Undesirable Substances, i.e. Fluids and Food, Splashing Against It Will Require a Protective Splashback - Back Splash. Common Splashback - Back Splash Materials are Glass, Tiles and Stainless Steel.

Coloured Glass Splashbacks - KOLOR ™   from Geelong Splashbacks are sheets of 6mm Float Glass, in accordance with AG/601 & AS/NZS1288, expertly measured and cut to size.

Once cut to size all Glass Splashbacks - KOLOR ™   cut-out requirements and edge processing are completed prior to the glass being heat treated to the requirements of AS2208 which results in ‘Grade A Safety Glass’. This type of glass is commonly referred to as ‘Toughened Glass’or 'Safety Glass".

Glass Splashbacks - KOLOR ™   ‘Toughened Safety Glass’ is approximately six times stronger than Float Glass and can withstand temperature differences of up to 280oC as opposed to 50-60oC for Float Glass. ‘Toughened Safety Glass’ cannot be cut, drilled or machined in any shape or form.

The completed piece of Glass Splashbacks - KOLOR ™   ‘Toughened Safety Glass’ is then cleaned and prepared for the back of it to be Coated with your Colour of Choice using the most up-to-date hi-tech materials and equipment by Geelong Splashbacks.

Coloured Glass Splashbacks - KOLOR ™   from Geelong Splashbacks are used or more so required in Kitchens, Bathrooms / Ensuite, Laundries, Bars. The walls above the benchtop in these areas are required by the Building Code of Australia ( BCA ) to be protected and water tight.

6mm Clear Toughened Glass

Contains a high level of iron in the sand (silica) when produced resulting in a slight green tinge best noticed when viewed from the side. This slight tinge visually changes the colour coated on the back of the glass. Light colours will be overpowered by the green tinge, whilst the tinge will only influence the end result with stronger or darker colours.

6mm Starphire Toughened Glass

Contains one tenth of the iron resulting in an ultraclear appearance. Due to the low level of iron in this glass, colours applied will appear almost as originally selected in direct sunlight. This glass is very popular and is highly recommended when trying to achieve a particular colour.

Glass Splashbacks - KOLOR ™   Installation will take approximately 2 - 4 hours.

Protective footwear must be worn by Installers While Installing Glass Splashbacks - KOLOR ™   Products as required by WorkSafe Victoria. - ( if flooring is a concern please have adequate non-slip protection in place prior to Installers arrival )

Please ensure clear access to – Driveway, Hallways, Kitchen, Bathroom, Laundry ( i.e., area of Glass Splashbacks - KOLOR ™   installation ) – prior to Installers arrival.

Please ensure clear and clean Work Areas – Kitchen, Bathroom, Laundry ( i.e., area of Glass Splashbacks - KOLOR ™   installation ) – prior to Installers arrival.

Please do not use the cooktop within one ( 1 ) hour of appointment.
